A friend of the Warped Family, Jon Pebsworth at SideOneDummy Hey, brought to our attention Kenny Livingston who is riding his beach cruiser from Hermosa Beach, CA to Washington DC to promote healthy living and nutrition. That's right he said, BEACH CRUISER! He's riding his bike across America to create awareness about obesity and the foods we feed our children in school and at home. Our friends at MusiCares were out on Warped this summer and  their Set List blog had a great write up from the Tinley Park show

Woah. The last pit blog of the year. I don't even know how to wrap this up! I'll start with how Portland gave us an amazing last day. The crowds were phenomenal! Any pit going on the main stage just turned into a huge dust bowl- and then you guys rocked out even harder.

Things are starting to get crazy! Only 1 day remaining after this. Bands are doing collabs and acoustic sets so I'm expecting it to get really crazy tomorrow. I know we all just talk about how insane that hill is, but you actually won "Best Venue" on our Warped Tour Superlatives! We do love you, George, and we'll deal with our sore calves on our own time.

I don't think it's set it to anyone that there are only 2 days left on the road. It's like, everyone knows it, but it hasn't hit them yet. But today was still fun. It's one of the smaller Warped shows, just because this area is smaller, but it's still a good time. Kids out here are really into the shows because not every tour makes this stop- they are excited for everyone!

Last day in California! It's weird that we're not here for the last day, but it was still amazing to say the least. I think it got hotter as the day went on- and how many of you got caught up at the Ernie Ball stage!? There were more than a few times it caused some traffic jams, but alas, we pressed on!

Pomona! I was sad that we didn't kick off here this year, but ya know what? It was actually really nice to have it towards the end of the tour. It's like a nice little present because everyone has friends and family coming out. Plus, I dig this venue. I think I actually prefer the non-amphitheater shows because everything flows and isn't cut off. I just wish there were horses somewhere!

The Vans Get Out And Do Something tour stopped by Virginia Beach the other day and just wrapped up the second stop in Newport News, VA yesterday. Next on the schedule, McLean, VA and four cities to follow. Ray Barbee and John Cardiel are having a blast playing music and giving away goodies including Fender guitars, Vans and skateboards. After 26 successful years, the Xcel Pro at Sunset Beach, Oahu, which runs from October 28-November 10, will take on a new title sponsor this year, Hawaiian Island Creations, to become the HIC Pro. The HIC Pro will upgrade to an $85,000 ASP-sanctioned 4-star event and will be the final qualifier for the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing that begins November 12. As the final ASP regional contest of the year, it not only crowns the 2010 ASP Hawaii regional champion, but will also qualify six aspiring locals to compete on the world's premier surfing stage: the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. The packed, sun-drenched crowd that took in the 48th Annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships at Virginia Beach this weekend also got the chance to see 16 of the best longboarders in the world in the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational presented by Vans. The highly-specialized event required surfers to ride 12-lb, single fin leashless boards along with some serious style and nose riding all for a $10,000 purse.

Join legendary Vans Pro Skateboarders Ray Barbee and John Cardiel for live music and good times. Ray and the Mattson 2 will be performing live, followed by John Cardiel spinning his favorite music. At each stop we will be giving away a Fender guitar, skateboards, (thanks to Element and Anti Hero) and goodies from Vans and others! Come join us...

It's that time of the year again! The September Shred Street Skateboard Contest is back at each Vans Skatepark on Saturday, September 25th. This year we have a ton of sponsors and prizes. We will be running with three different divisions (Sponsored, 14+ and 6 - 13) and have cash prizes for first place in Sponsored ($500) and 14+ ($300). Virginia Beach is blowing up this weekend with the East Coast Surfing Championships. Besides the huge surfing contest going on, there are bands lighting up the stage, skate and BMX demos, signings and all kinds of other fun stuff pretty much taking over the town for 5 full days starting August 25th and ending August 29th.
