Of course we know that you come to Warped for the bands, but we all know we love cruising around the booths. There's merch for every band, labels, charities and various companies who are all ready to hook you up with the latest designs, products and, of course, free stuff. There are some that we always bring out with us and we're excited when we have new ones to join the tour. I decided to give you the first installment of booths you should get ready for this summer.

Vans has just launched a new, nationwide shoe customization contest, Vans Custom Culture- just for high-school art classes! Yes, we are wanting YOUR high school art class to design your own Vans. The contest is divided up between 4 regions of the country and grows from state level all the way up to national recognition. The 4 classes who make it to the finals, as chosen by a celebrity panel, get to send representatives on an expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles, CA to have their shoes displayed in an art showcase on May 15th. Those 4 classes will also receive a BBQ party in their honor at Vans headquarters as well as tour of the office. After final judging, the grand prize includes tickets to Warped Tour for the entire class and a massive $10,000 donation for the school's art department.

February is here and the tour planning is still underway! Since you last heard from me, we've had 2 more band announcements, the release of our iPhone and iPod touch app, and we are still going strong to get prepped for the summer. It's going to be here before you know it- just wait! I'm still getting a few more questions, so I want to clarify some of those, give you and inside scoop on my goals for the tour and let you have the chance to ask your question in another web-chat.

As you may know, Austin, Texas is the hot spot for SXSW, one of the largest music festivals in the US. Vans is in the mix catching up with all the bands you can think of, the Official SXSW Vans Showcase, friends, strangers, girls fashion, and anything else that might strike your fancy. Jump in and come along for the ride because we're giving you so much coverage, it's like you're practically there.

Don't forget to set your DVR or tune into FUEL TV's Monday night special programming block at 8pm ET/PT of Vans Triple Crown of Surfing's O'Neill World Cup. This past year the contest went down in the history books with the largest waves ever contested in the 27-year history of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Santa Cruz teenager Nat Young makes good on his O'Neill wildcard to post some of highest heat scores of the event in serious surf. All three Gudauskas brothers (CA) take on each other and massive 25-foot surf as Tanner joins Pat in qualifying for the ASP Dream Tour.

If you were lucky enough to be out in Austin for SXSW this weekend, then you probably saw the Kick-Ass Heroes at the Vans Store at the Domain. On Saturday March 13th the Kick-Ass Heroes were signing autographs for fans and promoting their new flick KICK ASS. After hearing about the movie and the amazing cast including Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Clark Duke, Nicholas Cage, and director Michael Vaughn, it seemed only fitting to work together to promote the film. They have all been Vans fans, and we've been fans of theirs. The movie drops April 16th so check out the trailer!

Australia's biggest hardcore-metal band Parkway Drive has announced plans to return to the studio to record their third studio album, which is expected to be released later this summer via Epitaph Records.  The long-awaited follow-up to 2007's hard-hitting breakout album Horizons was written in the band's hometown of Byron Bay over the past six months and will be recorded in Los Angeles with celebrated producer Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion) over the coming weeks.
